The HOBBYSPL kit is a collection of DCL procedures that can be used to create a Hobbyists's Software Product Library CD set from the commercial OpenVMS SPL CD set. These procedures were written to use the LD ("Logical Disk") freeware from Digital, Compaq, HP, et al. V6.2 of LD was used for testing. Other 6 versions may be compatible, especially later versions. These procedures have been tested on both OpenVMS-Alpha and OpenVMS-VAX. The author has only a MicroVAX 3100 with RRD42 (2x) CD-ROM and by his experience reports this to be very slow. The author knows of no reason why these proc.'s should not also work on OpenVMS-VAX or OpenVMS-I64 (when that arrives) so long as the LD freeware is available for I64.
